Me, myself and Google
Hello from Lebanon, my name is Catherine Khoreiche. I am a software consultant, and a travel enthusiast. I come from Beirut, Lebanon’s capital. We are famous for great nature, beaches and mountains, wild nightlife, great food and the world record for the biggest hummus plate.
My journey with Google maps and Local Guide started with Google asking me to answer questions about a place I had just been to. I started answering a couple of questions, and bam! I had reached level 2. That’s where I couldn’t stop; I would be waiting for Google maps’ questions whenever I visit a new place.
Google has been my companion at home and throughout my journey around the world.
Why I use google maps? Google maps reviews are authentic and worldwide. Everyone has Google maps around the world; you don’t need to download a million apps in order to be able to share a review.
First step of my trips? It must start with Google maps. I roam around the world map to choose my next destination, pick up a new city, save my favorite places to visit, and check all the photos and reviews for the different attractions and restaurants.
How google maps helped me? Google maps is my electronic memory. When my friends ask me about that pizza place I went to in Rome 4 years ago, Timeline is always there to help me. Thanks to Google maps, I tasted the best souvlaki in Zakynthos, had the best beer in Amsterdam, found the local Starbucks of Kathmandu and enjoyed the healthiest breakfast in Frankfurt.
Why I love to share on google maps? I love sharing bits and pieces of my experiences, be it locally or abroad. Being a visual person, I like to post photos. When I search for a new place, I need to see its pictures in order to be appealed towards it. Naturally, I felt the need to post on Google maps and give back to the Google Community. Being part of the local guides community makes me feel that I am connected to fellow travelers, who feel the need to share just as much as I do.
Looking forward to more tastes, memories, experiences and travel with Google maps.
Cheers,
Catherine
