Google maps has become a necessity in everyone’s life. I don’t remember when I started using maps but once I started using it then there was no looking back. There is no other app that has given such an amazing user experience and support at all the times.
One such time when I was again expecting answers from Google maps it didn’t show me satisfactory results. That’s when it occurred to me that someone had contributed so I had access to information all this while so why can’t I start doing that so someone else benefits out of it. I thought that it would be such an amazing experience to connect places with people, share my journey and help others in their journey. That is how Google local guides journey started for me.
When I open photos app in my phone there will always be something about some place which I can share with people. My idea is to either share a new information about a place or a different perspective about the place. I love exploring new places and that’s what I like reviewing as a local guide.
Over time I have also tried educating people about local guides program and how nice it is, who doesn’t like a beautiful icon on their profile picture that shows they are special. When I see a review by a local guide I have more confidence in that review. More the local guides more are the contributions and a better connected world.
The benefits of local guides program is huge which wouldn’t have been a reality without the people who have selflessly contributed towards this community and helped so many people. They were my primary inspiration.
Through this journey I have become more confident as becoming local guide involves communicating with people, to know their views so you can share that with larger audience. It makes me an explorer. More the knowledge I gain, the more content I become. I wish the same experience for everyone here and a larger local guides network in the days to come.
