I joined the Local guide program three years ago, it has been an amazing journey so far. Google Maps never ceases to amaze me with all it can do and with all features getting added by the day. How easy it is now to navigate the world and pull out info about any place. Accessibility & Public Toilets initiative is adding wonders to it.
Being a local guide I believe it a privilege to make a contribution to Googe Maps and have an impact on millions of users around the world. I travel extensively and love photography and I take a lot of them. This program gives me a platform to share my photos with the whole world and sharing my photos with the whole is what I like most about this program.
The most satisfying thing for me is when I add a small business to Google Maps. I still remember when I was starting out with this program, I added a few small shops/business to Google maps in my hometown and nearby. After a few months, those shopkeeps actually called me Thanked me. They told me their business has increased and they’re now getting more customers. The feeling I got that time, I simply cannot write here in words. How amazing is that huh?!. In its own ways, this program gives me the opportunity to make a difference in people life and make the whole community better as a whole, which brings a lot of satisfaction for me.
A little bit about me and my Google Maps story 
I am a frontend developer, traveler, meditator, leader, and photographer. I currently work at HackerRank. I am a huge fan of F.R.I.E.N.D.S., the tv show. I love to bring joy to people near me <3
3 years ago, I started contributing to Google maps out of pure love, I didn’t even know about the benefits of being a local guide and when I came to know about it, Man! I am never gonna stop doing that. I am the kind of person who believes in giving back to the community and Maps gives me that opportunity.
