Mbalmayo is a small town in Cameroon, located about 48 km from the capital Yaoundé, served by several travel agencies located in mvan in Yaoundé.
Mbalmayo is a city steeped in history, which was once an area of heavy logging and a place very frequented by expatriates who for the most part were foresters.
Mbalmayo is also known under the name of “Cruel City” because of its history and its very colorful annecdotes. Mbalmayo is also a city with an under-exploited tourist potential. The nyong river which crosses the city, and gives it an identity, not only allows the population to live from fishing (freshwater fish) with the specialty of “KANGA” fish, but also the harvest of sand.
The sand is dug in the water by the populations and resold. There are two types of sand, fine brown sand and ultra fine all white sand. Mbalmayo is really a corner visited during his stay in Cameroon
