Sao Paulo is a megalopolis, a huge city, and the one that chose me as a companion.
Since I haven’t always been a super traveller, due to time and financials, the only travel-places-tips I used to provide to my peers were locally-based, and always through the technology of SPEAKING. Yeah! I could only recommend places to friends and close acquaintances.
One day, I decided to activate the Local Guide feature on Google Maps. Bored as I was, at home. One hour went by, and I was frantic non-stop reviewing places. Then it hit me.
All of those times, I was eager to go somewhere but didn’t know whether the place was worth it, or expensive, or any other I-just-want-to-find-a-reason-not-to-go-out question we have before leaving our houses, I relied on Google. Yes. Our information god.
The reviews to places on Google were my blind faith. I’ve always trusted those opinions blindly before making the decision to visiting a spot. Those people were not my friends. Not my family. Complete strangers. But I relied on them and the information they were feeding me with.
I had to become one of those commenters, sharing my experiences, putting out my lenses, in order to make other people see the world the way I visualizing it.
The world is but a view we glimpse and share.
After all, being a Local Guide has moved me to MOVE.
Live more intensely.
Get out.
And most of all: connect with folks.
Go out and share the world you see!
Good luck
