Matcha Lovers Must Try This Sweet in Kanazawa, Japan

Are you a matcha lover? Me, yeeees :slightly_smiling_face: Kanazawa has many cafes and Japanese-style cafes that serve matcha or barley tea sweets. When you visit here, you should try some of them.

I found a Japanese-style cafe, called Hayuwa in Higashi Chayamachi District in Kanazawa. This district is famous for its authentic streets and cafes. And Hayuwa is one of these cafes that serve matcha sweets.

I ordered the matcha zukushi (many matcha sweets) in the box. The box contains matcha ice cream, brownies, rice cake, zenzai and warabi mochi. Each sweet was delicious and I missed this flavor while I was overseas!

Hayuwa has about 5-6 tables and it’s a cozy cafe. Since they don’t have many tables, you may need to wait for your turn. I waited for 10 mins but it was on Friday.

The view from the cafe is also nice and you can see the street in the district  If you love matcha or Japanese taste, try this spot!

WOW! That food and place look amazing  I am a HUGE matcha fan - I hope to be able to visit this place, or somewhere similar, in Japan in the future! I’m happy to know authentic areas still exist!

Thank you for sharing! You’re very good at making vlogs! I tried the last time I went to London… not sure how successful it was  But I enjoyed watching yours!

@TheRealKristin Thank you for your commend :slightly_smiling_face: I hope you can visit Japan sometime soon! Well, you don’t need to go to this specific cafe to get good matcha  basically in Kyoto, you can find good matcha as well!

I love how you capture the timelessness in this part of Japan in your post. I especially enjoy barley tea this time of year. Matcha is also great, too. If you are near the station, I recommend Gare Kanazawa Preeminence. While they do not specialize in matcha, you can enjoy a tea called “kagabocha,” a type of brown tea that goes well with cakes and confectionary

@user_not_found yes, Kanazawa has a good barley tea and some confectionaries. But I didn’t have a chance to try this shop  next time!
