Masjid Negara in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The Masjid Negara is a beautiful structured building; it is situated in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Mosque is also known as the National Mosque of Malaysia. The mosque was designed by three architectures Howard Ashley from UK and Hisham Albakri and Baharuddin Kassim both from Malaysia.

It was built in 1965 on 13 acres of land including the beautiful gardens around the mosque. More than 15 thousand peoples can pray inside the mosque at a time.

The main hall is looks like a big dome with Star shaped and with 18 points; the points represent 13 states of Malaysia and the five pillars of Islam. The main hall is surrounded by 48 smaller domes around it. It has 73m high miner, which is the mosque’s distinguishable feature and a prominent feature of the KL skyline.

13 Acres of land…!!!

15,000 people at a time for prayer…

It’s a very huge number…

The beauty of such a mosque is imaginable.

I have visited the famous Abu Dhabi Mosque - extremely beautiful!

The area is big indeed, because the mosque is surrounding by nice garden, water fountain, parking space @TravellerG

I never been to Abu Dhabi but i have used the airport just only for the transit while travelling to London. Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is a very big mosque and beautiful in UAE; more than 40,000 people can pray at a time inside the mosque.

Dear @AbdullahAM bhai

Thank you so much for sharing with us an excellent informative post about the Malaysian National Mosque.

Gardens with mosques are rarely seen in our country. It is really a great thing to have a garden next to mosques.
