East Kalimantan is famous for its river, namely the Mahakam River which stretches from upstream to downstream along 920 km.
So it is not surprising that many bridges were built to connect one region to another which is separated by the Mahakam River.
And did you know that East Kalimantan has a bridge that stretches over the Mahakam River. and the bridge is also the longest bridge in Indonesia, the name of the bridge is the Martadipura Bridge which has a pile slab span with a length of 15.3 km.

Of course it makes me proud, who lives in East Kalimantan, to make me want to visit the bridge. The Martadipura Bridge is in Kota Bangun District, Kutai Kartanegara which is at least 90 km from the city where I live, namely Samarinda.
With a travel time of 2-3 hours we can arrive at the bridge location. Don’t worry about the street because the roads there are already smooth even though they have to pass through the Kalimantan forest.
Not without reason I really want to visit there. material for me to share on Maps, another reason, yes the location of the bridge is on the west side and I am a sunset hunter.

With minimal preparation we used a car to go to the location, we arranged the time so that we could arrive on time for sunset and my trip was not in vain, I found a hidden paradise in the Bridge area Martadipura, which is the perfect location to enjoy an afternoon with family, friends or loved ones while enjoying the sunset.

Sounds unsafe, but no need to worry because on the side of the bridge there is an area slightly protruding to the side that can be used for vehicles to stop and we can hangout there.Check here to know the situation in there.
Sunset on the East Borneo-personal docs
See the scenery there through the photos I took, it was amazingly beautiful and all tiredness was replaced with a sense of satisfaction and didn’t want to leave there.
Oh yes, I’ve visited this longest bridge twice and I still want to come back again to enjoy the natural beauty that served. And those who visit to enjoy the sunset are not only local residents, but also many also come from outside the city.
This is my story on the longest bridge with a bonus of amazing sunset views.
Enjoy…
