Maps offline functionality has moved to the account icon on the right top corner

Hi,

As a preparation for my holidays and always as a plan B, I am used to download the part of the map where I am going to.

But since the latest upgrades, I couldn’t find the download maps option anymore. Is it still possible to make offline maps? Where is it? Is there otherwise another option for this great functionality?

Happily, because of the help here in the connect forum, the offline maps can be found back by clicking the account icon with your photo on it. There the offline maps can be found again!

SOLVED!

Hi @LG_Kees

If you tap the Account circle (your profile pic) on Android and then scroll down there is “Offline maps”. That might be what you are looking for.

Cheers

@LG_Kees The Offline maps is still here. Just tap on the account icon on the top right corner, scroll to the bottom and you should see the option as marked in the screenshot.

Great that you was able to find it, @LG_Kees . What about to modify the title of the post for letting the others know that you already found the answer?

On Google maps help there is an interesting introduction, updated for the new user interface: Get started with the updated Google Maps app

In there you will find a detailed explanation of all the changes
