Dear friends Local Guides, I hope someone can help me and recommend what to do :
My June update indicated : level 10 , 193.019 points earned.
My July update indicated : level 10 , 195.549 points
On 12 August my number of points suddenly decreased by around 3.000 points !
Today (25 August) my total number of points is still below 195.000 points notwithstanding I added quite a few reviews and pictures. A correct figure should now be around 198.000 points.

About your question: according to your profile on Maps you have only answered 208 questions. Can that be correct? That has in the past been a known source of points going down.

Dear Jan, thanks for your reply. I checked the number of my answers and I saw, effectively, the number mentioned is only 208. I never checked this number but the figure cannot be correct since I answer questions on a regular basis. For example today I answered around 20 tot 30 questions and I checked the result and it says :
today : no answers
your best score is ,in august : 268 answers (only in 1 month)
Spread over my active 5 years, the result would be like 10 times more than 208, but, again, I didn’t pay attention to this issue.
Every month I read the updates on my activity and the result is always excellent with compliments from Maps side but now on 12 August 2021 Maps suddenly deducts around 3000 points. What does this mean ? What is the reason ? Thanks for your help and assistance and kind regards. Jan TORFS
I suppose you are responding to this conversation. As your original post there is not related to the topic, I am asking to @Giu_DiB to move the original conversation here.

Regarding your issue, it is probably related to the setting for Google’s My Activity . Please read: How do I delete my answers to questions on Google Maps? If on My Activity your setting is different from this one here below, your answer were automatically deleted and the points not given.
That feature has been resolved on August 24th, as you can read in the link that I shared with you: “As of today, if you delete your location history, it will not impact your answers contributed to questions on that date, and as a result, your points will not be removed. We are unfortunately unable to apply this change to past answer contributions that were deleted along with your location history, so those points will not be restored. We thank you for your patience.”
