"Maps can't publish your review and rating"

Since yesterday and without reason, I now get a message whenever I try to post a review “Maps can’t publish your review and rating at the moment. Try again?” And the options are “yes” and “no”. The former does nothing. The latter closes the message.

I was able to post a photo to the place. I was also able to post a review from another account.

My local guide account has over 5m views on photos. 100s of positive reviews that I have spent a lot of time putting together. Why am I suddenly banned?? It makes zero sense. I have received no notifications whatsoever, so no formal process, just a seemingly silent ban… anyone else experiencer this? How do I get it sorted? A post on Google Community led me to this place…

Welcome to the connect community. You are not banned in the program as per look of your Local Guides Profile. Please clear Cache of Maps App or re-edit the review!

This is much more likely to be a technical issue than some ban. As @Rahul001 suggests, clearing cache or restarting the device/system you’re using may prove helpful.

There is a problem with Google Maps that I can’t fully identify. The comments I make as a local guide are added as numbers, but they don’t appear on the business page. I understand that I comply with Google policies here, and I publish the comment through the support team.

For unpublished comments, you can request review of your comments via the form.

I would like to point this out. My comment published via the form by the support team was removed by the same team due to the business owner complaining via Google. If your comment is not a criticism, you will probably not have a problem.

Thank you very much guys, it does seem that this is a problem with Maps on my phone, and not with Maps in general or the review system. I was able to post the review I wanted from my PC.
