When I open the Google map the default lap failed to load. I update the app but still not working. I have pixel 3a phone

Please shat the version number of the Google Maps App and your android system, @EyalD
Please, try Clear cache & cookies, if you have not already done so. The link has step-by-step instructions for Android, IOS, and Desktop. Just select the relevant tab at the top.
Does the satellite layer load OK?

The map view is not showing roads, is that the problem? Or something else?
First, try removing the cashed data. If that doesn’t work then clear the stored app data also.
To do that, you will have to access the device’s setting. Look for Apps and permissions and locate the Maps app in that.
Yesterday I run into a similar problem where the Maps app was not displaying the route however the audio instructions could be heard.
I immediately reboot my android device though not sure if that itself cleared the cache files as suggested by @MortenCopenhagen but it did the trick and Maps was back to normal again.
