Looking back at the few years since the Local Guides programme was introduced, the scope of the work that’s been accomplished is truly breathtaking.
We’ve been able to share the little spots that matter to us.
The little shops that just popped up.
The old ones that are not as tech-savvy and would not know how to make an online presence.
Now, anyone can literally put themselves on the map.
It’s specially true for those of us who live on small islands far from the main continents and cities. We’re too small or remote to hope for regular visits from the more advanced mapping systems so having Google Maps give us the ability to make ourselves known is so empowering.
This is what the internet promised us.
This is worth being proud of.
