Mapping unexplored and changed parts of Brazil

Hello fellow Google Guide Mappers !

I have been contributing for quite some time, all over the world… but I never had such issues as I am encountering here in Brazil ! It is my country, so I want to help while here. A lot of maps are correct even on A (fruit) maps, with roads that changed up in 2019 and I went and mapped all the changes and submitted weeks ago. Same for business that have already closed, opened, I mean the map is SO behind I am shocked. And my edits never took so long to be approved! I filled out everything as I always do, sent pictures as proof of business that closed, even mentioned that other map apps are already correct… now the business on those streets are sending me messages because they want their business profiles made properly and I can’t help because the road fixes are not approved therefore to Google… their addresses still don’t exist ! I would appreciate any tips on how to expedite this. Is that a local problem ? I have NEVER seen so many mistakes and roads not updated as I’ve seen since I got here a month ago (will still be here and trying to map for another month), nor this delay on getting any reply to my submissions.

Hi @MisterBrazil , thank you for wanting to clean up the Map in Brazil. Your first few road edits will take a while to be approved. Once you have those, as long as you have made good, clean drawings, your future edits will go much quicker.

I suggest making changes in separate edits. Draw one road that connects to an existing road and submit the edit. See if that helps speed up the process. If you find a road that no longer exists, or needs to be adjusted to align with the satellite image, try the ‘Other’ option in the road editing screen. Once you’ve gotten into the edit screen, choose the section of the road that needs adjusting, and a new menu will come up. Choose ‘Other’ and write a short note of what’s wrong (“road not aligned with satellite image,” “Road drawn through property,” “Road does not exist any longer”):
