I am passionate about adding places like businesses, public halls, public toilets, schools and churches among others, and show recent pictures about these places. One of these days, I got onto visiting a place for an event. To my surprise, I got lost though I thought it would be easy for me to reach the area. I tried to google the place but I couldn’t find it. Luckily, I had to rely on asking the people around. I tell you, it was not one of the best ways as I feared to expose myself to people unknown to me who could be potential conman or muggers. Once at the place, I made it a point to add it to google maps. This ensures that the next time I intend to go there, I will not spend a lot of time in a maze of streets having been lost. This will also help others.
In short, I am saying that there are many places that are unmarked on google maps in my area. My passion has grown towards this direction to add places and photos of them to maps because I have seen how getting directions wrong can be inconveniencing to the travelling public. Thus I want people to discover places easily and using economical routes on top of that.
I have discovered that people have their history tied to a certain place. They appreciate the photos uploaded by me and other guides. One of these is the photo of one of the oldest hotels in Pretoria (South Africa).
