Map vs. StreetView

Salut comunitatea !

Am intalnit o situatie bizara…

In timp ce ni se afisaza/anunta ca nu sunt agreeate duplicatele…, cautand mai cu atentie,

descopar ca Google ,( ce-i drept “Street View”/ cpt. ),pentru unele locatii , adauga dublat, triplat

chiar… !! imagini panoramice.

Si pe de alta parte, acele imagini panoramice sunt foarte vechi. Iata cum arata recent

aceesi locatie… ( captura din acelasi portofoliu ).

Intrebare : Cum poate fi corectata acesta situatie ?

Cu bine,

Hi @2be4all

When I have seen two very similar 360 shots from the Google Streetview car it was clear that they were from the car driving in opposite directions. Please check if that could be the case here too.

Hello @MortenCopenhagen !

panoramice , desi numai una e utila locatiei , celelalte vizand alte directii/obiective.)

Multumesc oricum pentru raspuns,

Thanks, @2be4all .

Did you flag the extra copies as duplicates?

Try using an app. I think the reporting problem is only on desktop, right?

Hello @MortenCopenhagen !

In Street View, duplicate photo (?) are out of scope… / see captures.

Thank you,

@2be4all

I stand corrected.

Then your only option is the general feedback route. Using Your opinion on Maps after first returning/zooming out from the Streetview. Please include the url of the place in your text feedback. And maybe even links to the duplicate streetview pics.

Sorry for not fully understanding your issue in the first place.

All the best

The way Street View is captured both for Google, their Contractors and even for Local Guides using the Street View App is that the data is captured in a video stream. This then is split into many individual 360 images. From most contributors these are a minimum of 2 to 8 meters apart. The Google Street View is much higher resolution and individual spheres are often much closer in built up areas.

If you are asking that why do Google contribute this way when you as a Local Guide cannot without being penalised by your images being made private and loss of points then I would suggest that Google own the product and can do whatever they want, they can also set the rules that you can I must follow @2be4all that is simply reality.

Hello @MortenCopenhagen ; @PaulPavlinovich !

Thanks for the reply ! :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ll follow his ( “@Morten”) advice , which is why I’ll tick him off in the right answer.

I’ll be fine !

I doubt you’ll get much success reporting Google’s own imagery @2be4all

Hello @PaulPavlinovich !

Thanks for the observation.
I don’t necessarily care, but I’ll use it as an argument at the right time.

Best regards,
