Since as we stepped into the Mandore Gardens of Jodhpur on the second day of our 2 days in Jodhpur, towards the evening and explored its premises, we were really happy. And next, it resembles so numerous other beautiful places from around the globe giving you the deja vu. If anything, this garden is very underrated among the places to visit in Jodhpur. And we must admit it’s a little neglected as well. Whilst the Mehrangarh Fort of Jodhpur which proudly as probably the most well kept forts of India, the Mandore Gardens at the other end is crying for more attention. Entry to the Mandor Gardens of Jodhpur - We won’t say that the entrance to the Mandore Gardens is very impressive. There’s a parking area in front where one can leave your vehicle parked.
And following a little walk, you’ll reach the gates of the garden. The parking lot is a bit congested with lots of vendors lined up on both the sides, all the way till the gates of the garden. But, as you step inside the gates of Mandore Gardens of Jodhpur, you’ll suddenly seem like entering into a different world. For, the vast expanse of greens and sudden peace will be the first ones to welcome you. The road inside leads towards the Cenotaphs. But, there’s a short walk to be done before you reach the cenotaphs. On each side of the road leading inside, again, you may see some vendors selling some souvenirs, bangles along with other daily use products as you take this walk.
The monkey forest of the Mandore Gardens of Jodhpur - There are so many trees in the Mandore Gardens. Walking Lower in the Mandore Gardens, as you begin approaching center of the garden, you’ll start spotting a lot of monkeys on these trees. There are several black apes too. And as you walk further, the groups grow larger and the number of monkeys increases all around you. You’ll find them walking on the road as well in groups, pursuing each other, jumping from one branch of the tree to the other and doing their normal monkey stuff. They’re quiet used to human presence and will more than likely not harm you if you pick to ignore them and just walk your way.
