It is rare for a dream to come true.
But staying in the Mandalay Bay Casino and Hotel was the second time when a dream come true for me.
I walked in front of this place in 2018 when visiting Las Vegas and marveled at the golden glitter and glamour of this huge property.
I never thought got a chance to stay here but that dream came true in June 2023. I attended a business conference here.
And if you are curious when was the first time my dream came true, it is documented here.
The location of this hotel is a bit far off from downtown, almost at the other end of the city.
Although Mandalay Bay is straight in front of the airport, the access is a long winding journey using a city bus. I have documented it in detail in this post.
The rooms were spacious, and the washroom was huge with a lavish bathtub.
The elevator lifts are super speedy, thought there is a lot of walking from the elevator to the rooms.
I was treated with a little surprise from my host company once inside the room.
The front desk is very helpful and fast. I did not have to wait for long for the check-in.
They also have a small utility shop on the ground floor for daily needs.
The casino is super huge and lavishly spread over on the ground floor.
The entire area is nicely carpeted making it enjoyable to walk.
There are an endless number of electronic gambling machines that come in all shapes and sparkling neon colors.
The specialty in Mandalay Bay is the Roulette wheels.
Whereas everywhere else in Las Vegas they have switched to the electronic wheels, here they have still retained the classic mechanical versions.
Then there are some very large gambling stations with a bewildering number of prizes to win.
Here’s another one called the Cashnado sounding like a Tornado hinting that it will bring a rush of cash.
In reality, it takes away all the money,
And since I hadn’t had any to splurge on these, I moved on…
The bell desk is prompt and semi-automated.
This facility is useful to keep the luggage after checking out of the hotel.
The best part is that it is free, a scarcity in Sin City Las Vegas.
The best surprise of staying in Mandalay Bay was my name appeared on TV
This was lifetime memory for me.
Finally, I was getting ready to enter the aircraft back home, but Mandalay Bay was beckoning me to come back soon with the radiant golden luster.
Accessibility
I noticed that the entire property is nicely leveled and carpeted to facilitate easy movement of a wheelchair and disabled friendly.
