Manchester LG: October 2022 MeetUp: Manchester Oktoberfest [RECAP]

The recap is well overdue - but I’ve got to the end of 2022 and realised I hadn’t done it. The event was not well-attended, but those of us that did had a great time experiencing the delights of multiple litres of German beer (good job we’d come in by public transport!) and numerous German bratwurst sausages of various sorts.

The annual event, which normally takes place in Manchester city centre (in Albert Square) has temporarily moved to this new venue pending renovation of the square. And here is the location.

Set in the beautiful surroundings of Platt Fields, a large marquee became almost an exclave of Bavaria, Germany with long tables in rows, where we were sat with numerous other guests from all across the city, and beyond. We were entertained by a whole array of musicians, some performing traditional German drinking songs, and others more contemporary music.

This event was organised by Google Local Guides, Manchester. We are an active group of Local Guides who try to arrange several face-to-face MeetUps during the year. Everyone is more than welcome to join us. Keep searching Manchester LG in Local Guides Connect for details of past and forthcoming events.
