Manas Wildlife Sanctuary: UNESCO Natural World Heritage site

Manas National Park or Manas Wildlife Sanctuary is a national park, UNESCO Natural World Heritage site, a Project Tiger reserve, an elephant reserve and a biosphere reserve in Assam, Located at the foothills of the Bhutan-Himalayas in Assam, Manas National Park has a unique biodiversity landscape, it is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985.

Manas is combined with Buxa, Nameri, Pakke and Namdapha Tiger reserves and contiguous protected areas in Bhutan and Myanmar. It forms the largest tiger conservation landscape for Royal Bengal tiger in the World, this apart it is home to over 20 endangered species.

River Manas flows through the heart of national park which makes it an excellent place for nature and adventure loving wildlife photographers. Elephant ride and Jeep Safari can all be arranged without any problem. Peacock, herds of elephants, wild hogs, hog deer and various species of birds can easily be sighted. The evening safaris are the most adventurous and chilling.

Nice clean Guest House with usual amenities, good food and well mannered polite staff. The mesmerising view of Manas river and a overnight stay in the jungle is exciting experience. Best to visit with family and experience the jeep safari with a local guide.
