Maldives in Cambodia

This picture is from a beautiful resort on a small island nearby Koh Rong. The first expensive resort in Cambodia named Koh Songsaa. The price to stay is 890$-3,590$ per night. No public is allowed to go in, only guests that stay there can access. The private boat to pick up and send off Sihanouk Ville port. Very quiet and indulgent experience to be there!

It is very relaxing and the price is what made it to be so special - people would spend that much for their ‘privacy’. The price above includes round-trip speedboat from Sihanouk Ville to Koh Songsaa and return, a welcome drink, a big minibar of snacks and drinks, in room swimming pool, in room high quality amenities, free 15 mns foot massage, free infinity pool, free non-machinery water sports and of course big breakfast in style. The clients are more middle classes people and those who want to escape the crowd. I met a honeymoon couple, seniors as well as the family!

Instead of relaxing, you can do various activities around the island including free kayaking, free snorkeling by your own, standup paddleboat, swimming, and other activities. You can always go to the desk for booking such activities.

  • Among 3 snorkeling experiences around islands in Cambodia, I could say snorkeling at Kong Songsaa is the best because we could see and watch true sea creatures living their fee life under the water without feeling disturbed; as 200m around the island there is a ban fishermen cannot touch the sea life at all. One of the amazing snorkeling experience!

Thank you for the beautiful photostory @Sophia_Cambodia .

Do you want to tell us something more about this “super exclusive” resort. I have to admit that I am extremely curious, you should write a real post (a story) about this place, maybe with some amazing detail (I am sure you had a lot of fun).

Back to your photo (I see you love to post photo) I would like to be sure that you know about the 1000 photos Limit for a user of Connect. I am asking because I see that in 70 days you used already 1 third of your space.

For more information about how to manage your photos, I want to suggest you to read a couple of post:

Hope this will help you

  • @ErmesT thank you very much. It is the first time I learn about 1,000 photos limited. Is there anyway I could edit my posts? I wanted to edit my previous post - delete some photos or edit spelling mistakes, but I cannot find where. Being here almost 3 months so I cannot say I’m new anymore but there are many things such as rules of photos limited I didn’t know. Thank you very much for reminding.*

Thank you @FalguniP they just want to ensure their guests get the obvious privacy they paid for. You know how lousy the public can be. Guests such as Honeymooners want such privacy. Their villas are limited to. It is always full. The cost at low season come down 40%=534$/night! You can check Koh Songsaa private island website.

@AlinaManiar thank you, I’m glad you like them. I will keep posting great contents.

@Sophia_Cambodia , you are welcome. On my previous reply I shared with you the link to the post with the procedure.

Please check: Tips and tricks to manage the photos in Connect

I wrote this post long times ago for another Local guide with the same issue. The graphic of the community is a bit changed, but the procedure still the same.

If you have any doubt, just tag me in there

  • @Giu_DiB it is absolute rules: only guess to enter as the resort has one dork. It is the ultimate privacy guests paid to stay there. You can enjoy snorkeling - a true experience of snorkeling I must say as 200m surrounded the island no fishing is allowed. So would you believe when staff told you there are giant mussels or whatever names these things called but I saw much of sea creatures, bigger fish, swim freely around the island. 30mns to kayak around the island. The hospitality they host their guests just Wow.*

Thank you @ErmesT I will have a look at that article first and will ask you back should I have questions. I think if Connect has options to edit post in place, that would be so helpful. So many times I wanted to edit my previous posts.

If a post is a standard category, a maximum of ten pictures can be added @Sophia_Cambodia my dear.

@ErmesT you are right. Can’t post more than 1000 photo in a lifetime Local Guide Conncet.

Thank you very much my dear for nice photo and good photo sharing with us.

@Mohammadalauddin

Thanks for the feedback. BTW, please do not give wrong information. What do you mean when you say “If a post is a standard category, a maximum of ten pictures can be added”? I am not sure to understand the meaning of “standard category” nor where the "maximum of 10" is coming from.

What I suggested to @Sophia_Cambodia was to write a story, providing contents, but I am completely unaware of a limit of 10 photos.

My reference for writing a post is always How do I write a post on Connect? , but I can’t find any mention of a maximum number of photos.

My tip is to upload no more than 3 or 4 photos to share an album or to add a collage if we want to add more images, to preserve our photos avoiding to hit the limit of 1000 quickly

Your photos do indeed make this resort look very inviting @Sophia_Cambodia . With the COVID-19 shutdown many resorts like this are hurting because of the loss of international visitors do you know if this resort is well patronized by locals or is it hurting badly but loss of international tourists?

good questions Adam @AdamGT by the look at the website, they decrease price for 40-50% made it to around 500$/night (mostly low season). I saw many middle class people and local movie stars take many pictures from this resort and put it on Instagram. I believe it hurts but still able to operate. You can look at Songsaa private island.com and see the discount price on their calendar.
