I joined Google Local Guides club because I love what Google is doing. My own experience with Google Maps is enough motivation for me to join the community of local guides.
My first experience with Google Maps was in 2015 when I was trying to identify the house of a colleague. He just shared his location with me on WhatsApp. I clicked on that link and I was taken to Google Maps.
I clicked on Direction and what happened next fascinated me. Not only was I taken to the house of my colleague but I was shown a route my friend even didn’t know. Needless to say, it was the shortest route to his house.
When I was offered the opportunity to join the team, it was just natural that I accepted.
So far, I am at level 5 and I must add that I have enjoyed the experience very much.
