Making the small places count through photography

One of the things I really like to do in Maps is adding details and photos to small businesses and hidden spots of the city. Whenever I look for new places to go, I browse its gallery in Maps to see how the place (or the food!) looks. Reviews are useful, but they tell just one half of the story! I may tell you that the Bosc de les Fades is a magical place in Barcelona… but you have to see its photos to really understand why (and judge if it is a place that may interest you).

But what does this have to do with small places? Sometimes I find that a very nice place may have a few or no good photos at all, and adding a good photo will help a lot of people.

Here’s a list of “unusual” things that I believe are helpful to photograph:

  • The menu (so others can see what’s offered and the prices - example)
  • A wide shot of the interior (is it crowded? is it cozy? does it have views? example)
  • The exterior (how do I get there? is it easy to find at night? example)

I hope you find this useful!
