There is always that feeling of anxiety in the mind of most people going to a new place, the feeling of “Oh, I hope I won’t get lost”, “Oh I hope I get what I want”, “Oh I wish I knew who has gone there before”, and so many other Oh moments, most especially a place with a different culture, language and so on.
Personally, I have experienced a case of asking for direction from someone who doesn’t understand my Nation’s general language which is English but only understand the local language and I found myself stranded for hours until I found who understood my language and where I was going to. I kept reflecting on the event of this day. What if I had someone all along the journey with me, directing me where to go, What if I had a friendly companion that could give me a brief of where I was going to. If I had all that figured out, I am sure I wouldn’t be stranded and I would have been at my location on time.
I have heard of people fall into this similar experience, and I made it a task to help eradicate these scenarios in a way I can which is why I joined the google local guide community, I wouldn’t want anyone to experience what I experienced which has been my drive and motivation to keep adding more and more places on the map so that people can find and never get lost.
With the help of the google map and local guides, I don’t need to ask for directions from anyone and moreover, I won’t get stranded. There are also reviews from different people which will help me and other people who are a tourist to locate the nearest hotel, restaurant and also the right choice.
I love making the map eco-friendly because, with that, I am contributing to help make my community a better place or people coming into my community and its environs.
