Few years ago, I got a flyer from a friend about an event happening in Uyo. It was a #Longrich Seminar one of the leading Multi Level marketing (MlM) in Nigeria And the location for the event was Obong Basssey Albert (OBA) Laison office, ewet housing Estate. Though I have been to Ewet housing have not come across the place.
Am very Internet of Things (IOT) savvy and inquisitive, I decided to try the Google Map App installed in my phone. And I searched for my the place I wanted to go. I was so happy that someone had done that, which was a great assitance to me. Because ewet housing can be accessed by Oron road, Edet Akpan Avenue and Nwaniba Road as well.
Moreover my curiosity got me to go through all the icons on the app and I got to know how Google map worked, along the line I saw other people contributions and it got me intrigued and I decided to Sign In and Started Volunteering.
One of the Zeals that inspired my passion to be a local guide, was to help people like myself, who want to be in places they have never been before, and would love to save time of asking leople directions. And I feel happy to make it easier for someone as a volunteer, just as I gotten assisted.
My love for attending new places and getting to explore is my hobby. And before I get to a place I search it over on Google Map to get all the details, give insight reviews of Places and add places that are not on the Map.
In addition most people rely on personal experiences of others on products and services than the presentation by the company or Owner, it is a user of potential client of getting verifications. As a local guide I give reviews on places visited and answer questions from Google Maps and other users. In the long run it makes other users safe and access to handy information of places just as books gives information of a particular school of Thought and connecting people…
In all I have had a memorable and fun experience as a local guide and Continue to do more to make Google Map User Experience better and put #uyo, Akwa ibom State on the Map.
