Making one of the world's most beautiful mountain passes information accessible

Last year, in 2019, during our annual trip to Europe with my family

We planned to travel to Slovenia (and combine a bit of karten area in Austria and a bit from northern Italy)

As someone who is always planning a head to the smallest details, I found myself struggling to plan one of the days in Slovenia that involved a long, around 4 hours driving, to complete what is called the “Rounded Day”

No matter how deep I have read and how many blog posts, video blogs and articles I saw , I couldn’t rest a sure I have the day planned perfectly.

Let me share how this day changed my life and made me get to know the local guide program and become an active, enthusiastic contributor to the program.

So in order to share the entire story , let me first introduce the “Rounded day”.

The day is all about circulating a big area in Slovenia which includes several fun activities for me, my wife and the kids: Driving in a cars train (while viewing an awesome views and letting the kids “drive” while they are on the train), then going to an amazing waterfall called “kozjak waterfall” and dipping in.

After that driving in a mountain road called “Vrsic Pass” which has 50 road curves and several places to stop during the way (A bit on that later as this was a life changer for me)

From there, going to another amazing place called Jasna Lake (Picnic and dipping, even fishing) and ending the day with a mountain roller coaster in a place called “Krasna Gora”.

Here is the image to explain the day plan.

Well, as I mentioned, I have read everything needed to know on:

when does the cars train departure, what are the preferred hours to hope on the train, what is the cost, how cold are the water in the waterfall and where to stop on each place, whats the parking costs, Opening hours, and which restaurants are on the way.

What I could not find and understand is what is there to do on the Vrsic Pass other than just driving and how scary are the curves in the way.

That was the moment I have found out the google local guide even exists.

I decided to search on google maps itself and understand the road, its structure and see if there are any interesting cities or villages in the area.

During a click on one of the spots in the map I have notices there are some comments , pictures and reviews on the left side and from there a new worlds was revealed.

Thanks to the information from the local guides I managed to prepare a perfect plan for my day trip and so I did.

I decided to document all the 50 curves, taking a picture from each one of them on this amazing road and to add comments to the missing parts not only relevant to the pass itself but to the entire trip in Slovenia, Austria and Italy.

Here are several pictures from the 50 curves I managed to take in this dangerous and rough road (Was actually very funny since all the traffic stopped and saw me taking the pictures LOL  )

Needless to say , that since I have started being a local guide I have started taking pictures almost anywhere I go, Adding reviews and useful data to each place such as:

Opening hours, Markings, pics, restaurant menus and more.

in my home town and in every trip I to in my country and abroad, I keep documenting, adding reviews, answering questions and thinking on what is the information people might need to utilize their needs.

This great addiction helps so many people and it is simple fun getting the "than you so much " from so many people.

I am hoping that this help will help travels gain and increase their pleasure during their trips and day to day life.
