Making journeys hassle free with Google Maps

Be it a normal commute to the office daily, finding a fuel station, locating some eating joint - Google Maps has everything and has made our lives unconsciously comfortable. I am a local guide level 5 from Pune, India. My journey with Google Maps Contributions started many years back when it was not so popular when I noticed the place where I live is not mentioned on Maps at all. How many times do you give directions on the phone to someone who is coming for the first time to your place, very common in India till now (turn right from the local grocery store, take left at the dilapidated bus stand, etc… ). Also the biggest inspiration to contribute has been my father who himself is a local guide level 8 and far more tech savvy than usual younger generations. Today I use Maps daily when commuting to office, checking traffic conditions just before leaving, when I am on a road trip in remote areas - finding roads, eateries - and yes the offline feature is a boon there since most of the remote places do not have network coverage. I love to provide updates on roads such as construction activities, road closures, unusual traffic; adding photos from my trips and unbiased reviews of places of interest which would help a fellow traveler ease his journey.
