Late Night Lab, is more than nightly excursions into the wilderness seeking the Northern Lights, or for the more urban minded, late light life with urban life, it is creativity too, yesterday, I encountered a group of animals engaged in creative pursuits at the Innovation Lab, at George Latimer Central Library. The animals were bipods, of the same species as Homo Sapiens, except they were with primitive looms, one wonders, why a loom is needed given two centuries of industrialization, but primitive fiber and textile weave together to make bizzaringly organic looking designs, marketed as wall hanging, in a conversation with the host, I discovered, a valuable role in the wilderness survival course I teach, on how to use just any regular surfaced object to weave cloth good enough for a host of substrates, from shelter roles to clothing, to warmth similar to Mylar from natural plant sources. Here are photographs.
