Making a local business stand out and watch its growth

Back in 2017, I was introduced to the world of board games by a friend. We started playing Dominion and Dix It but in a few days we just realised that we would like to play different kind of games. Buying a bunch a board games wasn’t an option since we didn’t have enough money to afford it.

One of my friends soon discovered a place called Game of Boards (GOB), a very small room with only 4 tables with 4 chairs each but loaded with board games. With only R$ 10 ($2.00) we could stay there for as long as we wanted. During our Xmas vacation, we arrived there at 1pm and left as the store was closing. I knew that the idea of the place was brilliant and I have to do something to help them grow and mantain so I could still play new games there.

I wrote a review in google maps, updated their information and made share to share photos of the place on the platafform. In a few months they were renting a room next door during rush hours to accomodate more people in the store. After a few months they grow enough to rent a new store with more than 30 tables for people to hang out and play board games together.

I truly belive that contributing to their profile was the best thing a could do to support them and make them known. I realy hope that they can grow up more and expand so more people could play boarg games with their friends.

Being a Local Guide is to support and see the growth of local business. I am sure that there are many stories just like mine and many business had the support of the Local Guide community to stand out from the others.
