For a strange reason I was feeling low today 
… since maps has become a permanent part of life, occasionally there are some teeny weeny things related to maps, putting us off… Just a thought came to my mind! There’s an option of making friends on Connect… I never tried it! I am not a very good friend maker… Love being independent 
! Moreover we are already well connected on the forum. But for today, felt like I had some friends here so that I could have shared my petite issues from time to time. Wanna ask your experiences: have you made friends here? How is the experience

@GhazalaShah are you referring to the ‘Add friend’ button you see at the bottom of the Connect users’ profile pages? I have used that a couple of times, but I have no idea if anything is then supposed to happen if you use it (and no one has been able to tell me whqt exactly is is meant for).
On the other hand: by spending time here on Connect, I have gotten in touch with loads of other people from all over the globe in a very pleasant way and in the meantime have also met some of them in person during local guide meetups. So, I can testify from personal experience: the local guides hanging out in this community are definitely an awesome bunch

Absolutely! @JanVanHaver you are right. But listen, today when I wished to have someone to share some things which were not personal but about some maps related matters; I knew no one for this. I mean, you don’t want to bother the Googlers or Moderators for every little issue. And some issues are minimal so you only like to discuss in the background… Okay I will try this option in future

@GhazalaShah It is always good to be in the company of like-minded people. All of the connect user love maps and passionate about maps. So this is a wonderful platform to connect with them.

I just read your post. I relate with feelings of boredomness . We all sometimes experience it and desire a company that we can spend time with. It is good you have an enthusiasm to make friends on Connect. I am not aware such quick chat platform exist here and if Google could introduce one it would go along way to make Connect more exciting and interesting .

Hi @Emmik20 thanks for comment. Basically this platform is Maps oriented. It is focused. Connect encourages us to do more socializing on other forums. So the doors are opened to us.
