Make every tourist spot in Karnataka visitor friendly

One thing that always irks me is a fact that most tourist attractions are highly inaccessible to folks with any form of disability. I understand a place like Sravanabelagola, a monolith rock can obviously not have an elevator but at least there is an alternative where people are carried in palanquins on shoulders to the top and back. I’m not asking that we have such extreme accessible options but the least we could do is have ramps, travelators, or maybe elevators as feasible as can be so more people can enjoy sights.

Electric buggies are available in places like the Mysore Zoo but on most days the number of actively running vehicles are awfully low and other times they’re insufficient to match demands.

As an afterthought, I also realize that this epidemic of unfriendly destinations is not just with tourist destinations. Most office spaces and restaurants among other business establishments too have such challenging entrances and navigational hazards. I’m not looking to rant but instead asking if we can mark and share feedback with these places through whatever means possible, Google Reviews, feedback over official channels, et al so they know of a problem out there and hope they act. Maybe those places that are already friendly be given a kudos when leaving reviews too so this can catch on over time and more realization would lead to more acceptance to change?

Let me know your thoughts. I’d like to know if I’m talking in a valley of oblivion here!

Before you decide to flip, let me clarify that I said Karnataka because this is where I currently am and it could be a good start. I’ll try and do my bit here. If you like it or acknowledge you can do it at your place. That way we can spread the good word!
