I have created a Map with more then 6000 spots around the world, where paragliders (and hanggliders) can takeoff, land and/or meet and eat. This is a lot work to collect these from different national sources. Is there any way to make a little money out of this f. ex. by hosting advertisemens ?

As a former pataglider I appreciate your efforts.
I don’t know a way to monetize a Google My Maps.
You could consider sharing your map on a dedicated website where you can add some adds and show your map in an iframe.

@Mark-Herzog if what you’re asking is putting advertising in the maps you created (like the link you shared), then the answer would be no, it’s not possible, as the feature is just flat out not available, and also goes against the spirit of the program.
I do understand that creating these kind of resources takes a lot of time and effort. I guess in the end is to treat it as a hobby, where the benefit is the satisfaction you get when you and others are able to get benefit from the maps you created.
