What’s the use of the “Chang ghar”, are they local houses or places on rental for tourists?

@LuigiZ They live in Chang Ghar for comfort living, which are made of bamboo and thatch. Also there are lots of Chang Ghar built for serving tourists only.

Wow…didn’t know about an island in a river in India which is so huge that there are villages and schools and colleges on a single island. Thank you so much for sharing this information @sabya . Just googled and read about the catastrophic flood in 1750 that continued for 15 days, which is mentioned in historical texts and reflected in folklore that created the Majuli island. Because of this flood, part of the Brahmaputra discharged southward into what was the Burhidihing’s lower channel and Mājuli island was formed. Amazing landscape.

FYI. My brother has clicked this picture and at that time I was with him too. Moreover the post editing was done by me. So I think its fair enough to use the picture and I don’t think he’ll make a claim. What is your say @Aruni ?
