I visited Majuli in June during my kids summer break. It was a wrong time I selected. The flies, crickets, wasps, gods knows what insects were all at nature’s best. We had to quickly gobble the food so that we did not find half worm or fly in the spoon. I do not blame Majuli, moreover I had checked in for a natural stay. The mosquito nets were our safe haven, just imagine sipping beer and drink within the confines of mosquito nets on the bed. I enjoyed nature at its best. However, I would not want to infest the place with gadgets and gizmos, I do not accelerate it’s erosion. I promise Majuli I will return in winters, sun bathe by the river and enjoy every moment just naturally.
I love this part of the world @sushmapradhan001 but sounds like it wasn’t so enjoyable for you and your family. Insects as well as weather can certainly impact on your enjoyment. I’ve experienced this myself.
Too bad you had to share your experience with all those mosquitoes @sushmapradhan001 , otherwise Majuli seems like a great place to visit.
I’m glad to hear that you haven’t completely lost your appetite for a second visit though, and hopefully the next one will be bug free for you to relax and enjoy the trip.
@MortenSI June is actually not the month cause it gets hot and humid. That is what I mentioned I can’t blame Majuli, Winters are the best time October to April.
Thank you for the boost, I have all plans to go during winters and mostly during the festivities.
Even with all the bugs and flies, which appear only during nighttime I still went around. It was lovely!!! Do visit
@AdamGT but what fun it was. Just imagine sip inside the mosquito nets. But great learning!!!
Hopefully I’ll visit one day @sushmapradhan001 , and I will make sure to do so in the winter period!
Thank you for the advice!
