Maha Shivaratri!

Maha Shivaratri ( the Great Night of Shiva) an Hindu festival celebrated across India on every new moon day in the month of Maagha as per Hindu Calendar.

There are several Mythological brief behind this day. However the popular belief is that on this day, Shiva and Parvati got married.

Isha Foundation is established by Spiritual leader Shri Jaggi Vasudev who is known as " #SadhGuru on the foothills of Mountain #Velliangiri ( situated on the Western Ghats above 5839 ft above Sea Level, at Coimbatore, in State of Tamilnadu in India. The 112 foot-high face of #Adiyogi (the first Yogi / Lord Shiva) is constructed here.

On every Mahashivarathri day, Isha Yoga Centre organise night long #Satsang #Jagaran ( means, gathering together for truth) is conducted were the crowd stay awake throughout the night from 06:00 pm to 06:00 am.

During the night #NightwithDivine , several live cultural programs, and music concerts are performed by renowed artists as well as live guided meditiation by Sadhguru is held. #Mahashivaratri celebration at Isha Yoga Centre attracts millions across India as well as from abroad.

I’ve never heard about this festival, and it sounds very interesting. The statue of Shiva looks amazing with the moon. Is it popular to have a Shiva statue in the cities? Does it have a special meaning that the yoga studios are working between 06:00 pm to 06:00 am?

This festival " Mahashivarathri is very famous and it attracts millions

This auspecious day, normally fasting is done. This Mahashivarathri night, in order to experience the Devine blessings, believers gather and night long awakening is done. The small statues of Shiva is there at several temples and few large are constructed at certain Mythological place of importance such as Velliangiri mountain foothill.

This particular mountain has very importance on Shiva and #Sadhguru has constructed the 112 ft high face statue of #Adiguru #LordShiva #Ardhanarishvara .#ParvatiVamaBhaga #IshaFoundation #IshaYogaCenter #Sadhguru

As part of Human welfare,Well being, #Sadhguru started Isha Yoga Center for Sadhana and inner transformation. It’s carried out on daily and on Night of Mahashivarathri it’s very special. Sadguru guide the devotees who attended the Jagran to meditate.
