It was my best winter ever, winter in magical Lapland, Finland. I went to Lapland from Tallinn, Capital of Estonia. It was an amazing group tour. We explore many new places. We did some snow sports like ice sledding, Husky sledding, Reindeer sledding, and Hiking and we did a Finnish sauna. We experienced two types of sauna, one of them was most amazing, after sauna we jumped in an ice hole.
I want to share my whole trip in this post. I hope you will enjoy it.
Santa Claus Village, Rovaniemi, Lapland, Finland
You can meet Santa Claus and cross the magical Arctic Circle every day at Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi in Lapland, Finland. Rovaniemi is the Official Hometown of Santa Claus in Lapland. We met with Santa Claus and talked to him.
After we finished our visit to Rovaniemi we went to Kuusamo, Kuusamo is the northern and border city of Finland. Kuusamo is a major center for winter sports and receives approximately a million tourists every year. One of the largest ski resorts in Finland, Ruka, is situated in Kuusamo.
Husky Sledding:
It was a great experience in my life. These huskies are very energetic, they can survive in very cold temperatures because of their thick layer of fur. There are different packages for a husky ride.
Reindeer Ride:
We did a reindeer ride for a very short distance, the ride was free for us from the farm owner.
In the reindeer farm, we did some ice sledding, it was my first snow sports in my life. It was really great fun.
Hiking in Oulanka National park:
Last part of our trip, Hiking to Oulanka NP. It is a national park in the Northern Ostrobothnia and Lapland regions of Finland, covering 270 square kilometers. In the wintertime, it is fully covered with snow. Trees are becoming snow trees.
