Many a times when we think of "Macro", what immediately comes to mind is; “Picture of things that are very tiny especially Insects, enlarged so many times over for better clarity of image and resolution”.
I decided to experiment Macro on something entirely different; “a Piece of Jewelry called; a Pendant” which is worn by many women in South-Western, Nigeria.
I wanted everyone who saw it to have the feel that they ‘had a feel’ of this Pendant in their hand. Ewaade is nice and loves to share, right?
TIPS FOR TAKING A MACRO SHOT IN MOBILE PHOTOGRAPHY
My phone has the ‘Macro option’, in case yours has it too, then let’s move ahead.
When taking a Macro shot, you need to;
- Keep your hands steady
- ‘Move in’ on your subject; a 3-5cm distance to get the best shot
- Fill the Frame
- When and where possible, use Natural light
There, you have it!
Details of this Photo

Now compare it with another Photo of the same object; the Pendant;
Which of the two Photos make you ‘long’ for it?
This Photo was in ‘Portrait mode’ on my Mobile Phone, I wonder why it’s in Landscape here on Connect. I will Connect had the option to ‘Rotate Photos’ after posting them.
