Luscious Fish Ramen 🐟🍜

There’s a restaurant in Paris whose specialty is fish-based ramen. You can choose among different kinds of broths (monkfish, sardine, lobster and others, depending on the season), and enjoy your piping hot ramen bowl in a very peculiar setting! The restaurant is themed after the old Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo (hence its name, Kodawari Ramen Tsukiji), with fish boxes and market sounds recorded in Tokyo by the owner. The result is very detailed and intentionally kitsch (have a look at the photo of the fake 500 lib tuna!).

The ‘Sardine Bomb’ Ramen is made with very strong Breton sardine broth, braised chicken and niboshi (small dried sardines)

The Sea Bream Paitan Ramen is made with a thick, cloudy broth, grilled sea bream flakes and chashu pork.

If you’re tempted, here is the address:

Kodawari Ramen Tsukiji

12 Rue de Richelieu, 75001 Paris

I’d be curious to know if fish-based ramen is common in Japan? Or maybe just in some regions?

Have you ever tasted it?

I love Ramen @GaiaGemini these images are awesome. I love that they’ve replicated the old market, you can almost smell the place. If that tuna was real it would be worth a million dollars :).

I love ramen, especially with pork!!! But never tried sardine ramen before. Interesting… It must be so delicious. Is it spicy @GaiaGemini ?

I’ve tried ramen with deep fried soft shell crab in a lobster and pork broth at San Mateo, California on my way to San Francisco International Airport . It was so good!

I thought that tune was real for a minute @GaiaGemini !

I’ve never even heard of fish ramen before and usually go for the beef or pork once as I find the broths to be the tastiest.

It looks amazing from your photos though and I can almost imagine what it might smell like.

@Velvel No the sardine ramen wasn’t spicy, but you can ask for an additional red spicy paste, which according to my husband tasted really good. The ramen in your photo looks sensational!

In California I’ve always had tremendous Japanese food.
