There’s a restaurant in Paris whose specialty is fish-based ramen. You can choose among different kinds of broths (monkfish, sardine, lobster and others, depending on the season), and enjoy your piping hot ramen bowl in a very peculiar setting! The restaurant is themed after the old Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo (hence its name, Kodawari Ramen Tsukiji), with fish boxes and market sounds recorded in Tokyo by the owner. The result is very detailed and intentionally kitsch (have a look at the photo of the fake 500 lib tuna!).
The ‘Sardine Bomb’ Ramen is made with very strong Breton sardine broth, braised chicken and niboshi (small dried sardines)
I love Ramen @GaiaGemini these images are awesome. I love that they’ve replicated the old market, you can almost smell the place. If that tuna was real it would be worth a million dollars :).
wow, those photos are super beautiful … I’m starving now at lunch time here . I love Ramen too and in general all Asian food, and I know a Dutch friend who is just addicted so much to it, I’m sure she will love your post, @ellecross isn’t it?
@Velvel No the sardine ramen wasn’t spicy, but you can ask for an additional red spicy paste, which according to my husband tasted really good. The ramen in your photo looks sensational!
In California I’ve always had tremendous Japanese food.
