Join us to discover and enjoy the historical city of Lucca from a unique perspective. The tour will walk through the historical city center and climb on the 2 medieval towers of the city for a unique view of complete city: - Torre Guinigi (https://g.page/torreguinigi?share) - Torre delle Ore (https://goo.gl/maps/8ReUJ7tMuZMVWiSKA) After the tour we will have a food break with some local specialties and we will continue with a local dinner. Date: 5 September 2020 (Saturday) Time: 14:00 (we aim to enter the first tower at 14:45) Location: Porta Elisa (https://goo.gl/maps/RzLJXvvRrXneunxdA) Comfortable shoes are suggested, a small jacket in case of wind, of course don’t forget your (mobile) camera’s. Note: the climbing on the towers is by stairs for an average of 200 steps each, tiny stairs are present in some pieces. Expenses are self care: towers tickets (5 euro combined ticket), dinner and eventually anything to eat consumed. Distancing rules due to current Covid-19 regulations will be held, a face mask and mono-use gloves are required to wear inside the towers. Important: since the towers access is regulated due to Covid-19 security measurements we will need to purchase tickets online in advance and entrance is subject to group of 5~8 people per available slot. UPDATE

I’m adding early online booking info for the tower tickets due to Covid-19 regulations in place.

The combined ticket for is sold for 5 eur per person for both towers at https://www.vivaticket.com/it/biglietto/torre-guinigi-torre-ore/150445.

The procedure is quite straight forward, however:

  • select the ticket
  • insert into the shopping cart
  • you will be asked to pick up every single entrance slot

The tour starts at Torre Guinigi at 14:45 (up to free seats), if seats are finished I suggest to pick up the next one and so.

The tour will proceed to Torre delle Ore at 15:45 (up to free seats again), if seats are finished you need to pickup the next slot making sure it is 45 mins at least after the previous entrance.

The order of the entrance is mandatory given by the entrance regulations due to Covid-19 so make sure to select first Torre Guinigi and after that Torre delle Ore.

Yes @AlexandreCampbell , we have this possibility again … of course we still have regulations to keep while with people and inside places but at least we are able to start planning again :blush: .

The meetup description has been updated with the early booking info for the Covid-19 regulations currently in place.

There is still lot of time till the date but seats per time slots are not very big due to the small spaces inside the towers, in order to keep enough distance between each person inside.
