I love sharing and adding local small businesses to Google Maps because small business owners need a lot of help and promoting them, sharing them, posting about them and getting them noticed is important for them to succeed. I especially like adding Mexican food and restaurants since so many times foodpreneurs get caught up working in the business and not on it. With all of the changes brought on by social media and the internet, this is a great way to show a small business some love and get the word out to others that they are here and should patronize them. Especially minority and immigrant-owned businesses, they don’t always have access to technology or cultural understanding of why social is so important and adding them to google maps, reviewing them and promoting them is one small piece we can do to increase the economic development of our region.
