A year ago I started working on a project for my boyfriend since he and i are on a long distance relationship. I decided to collect pictures from strangers around the world whimsically to show my love and appreciation for him.
I stumbled upon an online community that shares my dedication and has been a support group in developing progress to complete this undertaking. Recognizing that this idea is actually a global project allowed me to get to know my city at a completely unique perspective.
I started visiting places of interests not solely for the purpose of admiring its splendid glory. The experience was elevated into finding myself visiting particular places several times and yet I ended up discovering something new about these iconic landmarks and places that represent my community.
My input as a local guide has been amplified through this project. I get to share as much information as I could from my consistent trips. It also gave me a glimpse from a touristic standpoint on what really people look forward to see and visit if their future plans bring them to Singapore.
It brought me a sense of pride and self fulfilment not just to take pictures and to share them with people who are doing a similar project with me but also understanding in my heart that I am sharing a valuable piece of my city. The goal was not only to trade pictures but also to add helpful information and photos to the global audience.
In this post, I have attached some photos I have taken that would be educational for many but touch lives for a few.
