While Valentine’s Day is still fresh on everyone’s mind it is celebrated annually on February 14th. The celebration is not just for lovers and married couples, but also a celebration for friendship and admiration, to show love to your parent, friends, and people who we consider very personal to us.
This post is inspired by @Rahul001 and the Challenge that initiated by @TusharSuradkar. Thank you to you both !!!
I would like to share some of my experience with meeting other Local Guides in person.
My contribution to Google started with adding photos and making reviews in 2017 later in May 2019 when I found out about Connect and non-formal activities on Facebook my life got better and happier then.
When COVID hit in 2019 many employees worked from home I took advantage of the moment to attend many meetups and build friendships with everyone from all over the world that is how I met @Denise_Barlock at one of the State Challenge meetups. Her lifestyle is very intriguing travelling all over the country with her motorhome.
I asked her if she would pass my State, Michigan to contact me so we could meet up, it was in May 2021 when we finally met in person. Denise has a very beautiful personality, funny, and very down to earth. We decided to explore and kayak the Black Lake in Cheboygan, she started with the manual pedal of the kayak, and then she switched over to the electric motor we were all holding each other’s kayaks, and here the 4 of us zooming the lake at high speed like no other we were all giggling and laughing like children. What a fun moment!
We ended the night by having a bonfire and the next morning it was my husband’s turn to cook breakfast using Denise’s fancy kitchen. It was a short visit but beautiful.
Being goffie in front of her RV
Pretending to drive it
Playing in the water, it was a really nice weather that day
Evening bonfire
Hubby returned the kindness by making breakfast for everyone before leaving.
Approximately a year later, our second meet-up happened again at the border of Indiana and Michigan, about 4 hours driving. We spent the day shopping at Shipshewana, Indiana (the famous Amish place [Google Search]). Then I realized I didn’t have a photo of the four of us, that’s how much fun we had.
And the recent love showed by @Denise_Barlock and Dave was I was given a wonderful gift on my special day to occupy her rental property in Key West for 2 nights and 3 days, the place is her happy place right by the sea with a wonderful view, please check my review and photo at Google Search
We may not talk often but when we do it’s like no time has passed. Thank you Denise for being a good wonderful friend and I hope to see you again soon – Happy Valentine’s Day – and my Hello to Dave!
