Something fun/ strange fact about me: Even though I do love travelling, I am much stressed the previous weeks. One of the reasons is that I hate packing my own luggage. I try to imagine what I will need and this process takes me many days.

Name: LUZIMAR. As this seldom Brazilian name is also too complicated for Europeans, I named myself Louisa because most of the people have difficulties with the pronunciation of my given name and they do not know if it is a man or a woman when in a written correspondence and this irritates me.
-
Location: I left Brazil in my early 20’s. I have been studying and working for the past 30 years in different European cities as Paris, Stockholm, and Copenhagen. Since 2002 I am established in the countryside of Germany where I am a Brazilian Portuguese teacher at a German institution and I have peace to write, paint and promote Brazilian cultural activities.

What I love about being a Local Guide: I the 90’s I used to share my travel experiences with my family through my paper photos, but unfortunately most of the time they were not interested (except for my parents and my aunt Dida). After the event of the popularization of the Internet and invention of virtual social network it became easier and faster to share travel images and contents with those who need or enjoy this information. Specifically about sharing my photos on Google, my pleasure is to be able to help other travelers. Before the GPS in the cars, I used to travel by car with help of paper maps. It was nice, but sometimes challenging and stressful. Nowadays thanks Google Maps and Google Fotos we can preview the road and print it. In addition, I am fascinated that we can and read the reviews from most of the places where we go.
-
My favorite thing to explore (What I love to share): Especially when I am traveling, I love exploring places to eat so when we travel we like to look up on the Internet the reviews before deciding where to go. At a restaurant I always like to take a picture of my plate because it will be gone in few minutes and it will live forever through my photos and to refresh my memory when I am back home to the normal life. I also like to review local small businesses and to answer to Google’s questions about those places.
-
How did I hear about Local Guides: I used to store and share my photos with friends through the Google album PICASA. I was very happy with it. Then when this service was closed and I opened a Google Fotos account. Then I got some e-mails from Google stating that my photos and reviews have helped other people and this was very exciting and motivated me to continue posting and to join the Google Local Guides community.
-
Something fun/ strange about me: I hate packing my own luggage and I hate this idea to be always reachable and online. Most of the things I do is with a photo camera and when I go home or back to the hotel, which a call “temporary home”, I upload the photos and write texts.
-
What I expect from the summit: to learn how to be more efficient and to meet who is behind this fabulous project.
-
What I am not here for: to brag about my travels making other jealous
