Have you ever taken a screenshot of a cool cafe, an amazing view, or a place worth visiting, and then lost it in the depths of your camera roll? Youāre not alone!
But hereās the good news: Google Maps, as recently announced on X, has a brand-new feature designed just for you!
Screenshot-to-Saved Places is here!
Google Maps will now automatically turn your location screenshots into a handy list of saved places. Finally, you can easily find and revisit those hidden gems!
This is perfect for planning trips, remembering recommendations, and organizing your travel inspiration.
How it works:
Screenshot a location from Google Maps.
Google Maps recognizes it and adds it to your saved places.
Access your saved locations anytime, anywhere!
Currently rolling out in the US (English, iOS). Android users, stay tuned for the update!
Get ready to turn those screenshots into travel plans!
Thank you so much the @NareshDarji , for posting this feature on connect, we are waiting to enroll this feature in India by google map. Thanks for sharing in Community.
Hi @Erna_LaBeau , this new feature is gradually being released in the USA and at first only for iOS (iPhone users), and then over time it will be released for other countries and also for Android users. So we just have to wait a few weeks. As of today here in Italy still nothing!
However, this is an update of the Google Maps app, where within your favorites there will be the new āScreenshotā section and from here, thanks to Geminiās AI, Maps will be able to find the location of the screenshot on the map (for this it uses, for the moment, the recognition of the text present in the screenshot) and will offer other interesting features later.
Thank you, @NareshDarji, for sharing this exciting update!
The new Google Maps feature that automatically organizes location screenshots into a list of saved places is a game-changer for travel planning. No more digging through endless photos to find that one spot!
Eagerly awaiting its rollout in India. Your timely information keeps us all in the loop. Much appreciated!
