Lost points

Hi @TraciC
I’m not sure if you can help me, but I have noticed lost local guides point in the last weeks.
Is there any way to check?

Regards.

@VasT
Thank you for your answer.
After reading a post “Missing points” (from your link), I’m not sure if this is true for me.

  1. If there was a photos issue and it was corrected, I should now have my points back. But they are not.
  1. I don’t remember that I delete questions/answer/activity … so this isn’t the reason.

Is there any way to check that problem? Otherwise, it isn’t reasonable to lose time with helping Google to achieve its results.

@kacnje can you please force a log-out on your devices by clicking on the Log Out button in the UI, clear browser cookies/cache, and Log back in? Can you see your points when you are in incognito window?

Please note that I created a new topic regarding your issue, as it wasn’t relevant to the initial thread.

I tried logoff+delete on Chrome on the desktop, but it didn’t help.
Should I also try on the phone (and how to do it there)?

BTW - for a test, I upload a new photo for one location, but the points are remaining the same …

Don’t forget to tag me @kacnje ,

Can you please try with your phone? When you upload a photo on Google Maps, sometimes you need to wait to synchronize. Can you take a screenshot of the photo you uploaded today?

@VasT
Maybe it took a little longer … now the photo is uploaded and 8 points are added.

Any idea how to log off in Google Maps on Android?

@kacnje ,

  1. Tap on the hamburger icon

  2. Go to settings

  3. Last option is Sign out of Google Maps

Hi @kacnje , I also lost 3,000 points very randomly, and the guidelines also weren’t accurate to me as I also did not violate any of the policies, apparently it has to do with the recent update, but who knows, hopefully the googlers are looking into it and we’ll get our points back soon enough :slightly_smiling_face:
Keeping my fingers crossed for all of us who lost a ton of points!

Did you happen to enable auto deletion of your activity in your google settings? I enabled the 18 month option, and this caused me to lose about 1500 points since there were no warnings that guide points would be affected from that setting…
