I am from Sweden. My primary focus on Google maps is to share places that’s accessible friendly for wheelchair users. I have lots of tips both on Google maps but also outside/private experience that I want to share. We are a large group (including all the elder people) who wants to discover the world on our wheels, electric wheelchairs, crutches, walkers etc. Don’t forget our (large) target group.
I am also the first one in Sweden who made the municipal in my hometown to build a accessibly friendly dog park. I did it through a citizen proposal and with lots of networking and a sponsor.
In my every day life I am working in a NGO association named Funkibator where we mix entrepreneurs and (dis) ability. We challenge norms in the society. We also produce children books for the general preschool with adventures where we include unique challenges, and where we challenge norms and where we all have some (dis) abilities in our team see more at www.funkibatorforlag.se
Awesome. I spent 2 summers in Sweden, touring with an English speaking theatre group. It was awesome and I loved the country. Worst decision I made was not to stay. Good luck with your endeavors.
I would love to. It was amazing but I’m getting a bit too old to start galavanting around countries. But it would be a dream come true. I’ve lost touch with the people I met and cast I went with……it was about 30 years ago. I stayed in some super amazing places. Met some incredible people and learnt stuff about myself.
I’ll put it on my bucket list as you never know what life will bring.
