Long Layover in Cairo

I will be having a long layover in Cairo. (11 hours) And the layover is overnight. My next flight out leaves at 9a. the next morning. I still want to get out and enjoy Cairo! How should I best approach this to enjoy a market and see something spectacular during that time?

My flight gets in AFTER the light show of the pyramids, so that’s out.

I want to enjoy shopping in the market for body oils, incense, and small trinkets. I am not keen on eating a lot.

How was your layover in Cairo? Did you managed to visit a market?
