Lomo Saltado and Seco with beans

Hello everyone! :grinning:

I hope you are doing terrific! Today I wanted to share two (2) well-known and delicious Peruvian dishes. :stew: T
The first one is called “Lomo Saltado”.

Lomo Saltado is atypical dish of Peruvian gastronomy :shallow_pan_of_food: :yum: consisting of beef, cooked rice and French fries. It is one of the most popularly consumed dishes in Peru :peru: and can be found in practically any traditional restaurant in Lima and the provinces. :ballot_box_with_check:

The second dish is the famous**“Seco with beans” :yum:** . Seco is a typical stew of the gastronomy of Ecuador :ecuador: and the gastronomy of Peru :peru: . It can be made with any type of meat. The Peruvian style is to cook the seco with beef or other animal, marinated in vinegar, served with rice and a chili, huacatay and coriander sauce.

It’s been a long time since I had the chance to eat both dishes but this week I finally got to do it. I fell in love :heartbeat: :two_hearts: again with my Peruvian cuisine :stew: . If you have the opportunity to visit Peru :peru: , do not miss it and take a culinary route, you will not regret it!

All the best,

Marco… from Peru!

Your photo of the tasty food really caught my eyes. Even though I had dinner a few hours ago, I could definitely eat a plate of Lomo Saltado. Yummy! I love French fries. The Seco stew sounds good too, although with the vinegar- do you know if it tastes sour? :two_hearts:

Hello @marcorp :wave:t3:

I was so glad to see that you have shared a post featuring Lomo Saltado! It has become one of my favorite dishes and it seems you feel the same. Yours looks delicious, especially the fresh fries. :star_struck:

I was only introduced to Peruvian food in the last 5 years, when we started traveling to southeast Florida. A Hollywood Beach restaurant was my first Peruvian dining experience and Lomo Saltado was recommended, so I ordered it… I was instantly a huge fan!

There are a handful of Peruvian restaurants located in that area and I’m doing my best to sample them all. The hard part is my 2 favorites are both so good! I’ll share them below, so yourself and others are aware if traveling there.

Pachamanka Authentic Peruvian Cuisine is located on the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk and is my favorite for overall dining experience. The atmosphere, service and food are excellent. We’ve been multiple times over the years and they always find a way to exceed expectations. I had to share a review on Google Maps and here’s a photo from our last visit in December:

Runas Peruvian Cuisine is the newest on the list and currently serves my favorite Lomo Saltado! The atmosphere and service aren’t equivalent to Pachamanka, as I share in my review. However, they cook an absolutely delicious meal… As you’ll see below :yum:

I’ve also grown to enjoy a Pisco sour with my meal. Sometimes, two.

Thank you, again, for sharing this post. It is nice to see others enjoying one of my favorite dishes, as much as I do!

I feel I must turn this into a post, myself haha

Thanks for your help with this matter and for the support of our community!

A very important thing is that you are a great leader!
