Lodhi Garden - Wander through history, ancient tombs, and lush greenery

New Delhi’s Lodhi Garden is a beautiful and historic urban park. With its lush greenery, serene environment, and historical significance, it is a popular tourist destination.

There are several tombs and monuments from the Lodhi dynasty (15th-16th centuries) in Lodhi Garden, including Mohammed Shah’s Tomb and Sikandar Lodi’s Tomb.

“Bara Gumbad” means “Big Dome” and includes a large dome mosque and an impressive tomb.

With its glazed tiles and decorative designs, Sheesh Gumbad houses an unknown family from Lodhi dynasty.

A 90-acres garden with well-maintained grasses, flowering plants, and ancient trees is meticulously landscaped. It is a popular spot for morning and evening walks, joggers, and fitness enthusiasts due to its walking and jogging paths.

An enjoyable picnic in a scenic environment is what draws families, couples, and friends to Lodhi Garden. Free entry makes Lodhi Garden an accessible destination for all. The timing are 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. all days of the week.

Did you also see the Bonsai Garden at the entrance of the Lodi Garden?

@TusharSuradkar I’m glad you liked it. I do not recall visiting Bonsai Garden since Lodhi Garden is so large that maybe I missed it.

Yes, I agree - the Lodi Garden is very large, and I too missed a few monuments within the premises @MerlinThomas

Fortunately, I was able to visit there several times and see them all.

Your photos are nicely captured :+1:

I have visited lodhi garden in February 2024.

Agree with @TusharSuradkar dada , there are too many monuments inside premises.
