LocalMisuse by new LG for getting points for correct Add Name

I take this opportunity to inform that there were misuse by LG’s for their unhealthy practice of Add Places or edit Places for getting points which were not filtered by Google. For Eg I had one place name Nilgiri Garden changed to Gardan by some unknown LG and one Bhagat School Changed to Bhagar School by unknown LG. Both were approved and they got points whit out checking or filtering by Google just to encourage them. But it took lot of time and energy to correct it

@KatyaL Thanks, What i want to inform that already correct Add Name must not be allowed by New LG’s just to get points to make it incorrect…There needs some filter otherwise the efforts of genuine LG’s will be waste of time and energy. Hope it is clear…

I’m confused with your statement that new local guides editing POI’s for getting points. I’ve a question to you; How you know that those POI’s edited by new local guides"? Local guides earn trust score as they provide edits on google maps. Yes it takes more and more energy to get it removed but you can suggest an edit again so that algorithm can understand the situation and will not allow them in future to edit the same.

@KatyaL @deepakjhic While admitting that while there are lot of new LG’s having genuine and honest contribution , it is a fact that there are some just having GM for time pass and misuse… I had bad experiences to mention one just for filtering.and more control.

I publish ed photographs of a School which i think was upto standard. But next day i could notice Review of the School one very bad comments by a new LG.

The problem is that Google approved and gave points.without knowing which hurt me a lot.The misuse guy became hero while i have to flag so many times to remove that comment wasting my time.Can there be any filter for such misuse even at the very beginning before publishing.

I would suggest you to post your ideas on Idea Exchange section, especially if you think they will improve the Google Maps experience in your area.

Please also be aware that you can report inappropriate content on Connect or report a problem on Google Maps.
